Medicaid in Maine, known as MaineCare, has approved the Fisher Wallace Stimulator® as part of the state’s effort to address the opioid addiction crisis.

The Fisher Wallace Stimulator® is typically used as an adjunct to traditional therapy and may be integrated into any substance abuse recovery program. Medicaid providers in Maine are now able to treat patients in clinics and prescribe the device for home use.

The Fisher Wallace Stimulator® helps recovering addicts manage mood, sleep and chronic pain issues in the crucial early-abstinence / withdrawal period. In a 392-subject study performed at Phoenix House in 2012, newly admitted heroin addicts who were treated with the Fisher Wallace Stimulator® remained in rehab after 90 days at a rate 50% higher than those who were not treated with the device.
